Staunton Police Investigating Fatal Stabbing on Orchard Avenue

STAUNTON VA: (Rocktown Now) – A predawn stabbing in Staunton left one woman dead and another injured early Sunday, according to the Staunton Police Department. Officers were dispatched around 4:00 a.m. to a 911 open line in the 300 block of Orchard Avenue. When they arrived, police determined a stabbing had occurred and found two female victims at the scene.

One woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to Augusta Health, where police say she is in stable condition.

A suspect was located at the residence and taken into custody without incident. Police identified the suspect as Freddi Chigo Mil, 32, of Staunton. She has been charged with second‑degree murder and aggravated malicious wounding. Chigo Mil is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.

Staunton Police say the investigation remains active. Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at 540‑332‑3842.
