HARRISONBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – After almost a month away, the EMU Volleyball team was finally back at home Tuesday night, as they welcomed in Washington and Lee to Yoder Arena.

The Generals, who are receiving votes in the latest AVCA DIII poll, were a tall task for the Royals, and got out of Harrisonburg with a 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-10) win over EMU.

Records: EMU 5-11, 2-5 ODAC | Washington and Lee 15-2, 6-1 ODAC

Highlights
• The Generals lead 5-3 through the first eight points, with Logan Turchetta, Lindsay Bly and Ella Lambert picking up kills for EMU. The Royals were able to keep it close early on and, after back-to-back kills from Alyssa Carr, trailed just 8-6. W&L then gave themselves some breathing room, going on a 13-3 run to take a 21-9 lead. EMU was able to pick up points off two errors and a Bly kill, but the Generals finished the set, winning the final three points for a 1-0 lead.
• This time it was EMU taking an early lead, pulling out to a 4-2 advantage with kills from Bly, Emma Rogers and Haley Atkins, along with an Emerson Moats ace. EMU would continue to keep things tight to nine-all, until W&L went on an 8-3 run to lead 16-12. The teams swapped points with Turchetta adding another kill, but Washington and Lee closed out the set by winning seven of the final nine points.
• Kills from Rogers and Bly put EMU on the board to start the third, but a 12-2 W&L run gave them an 11-point lead at the media timeout. Out of the break, EMU used kills from Atkins and Reese Fitton to stay within 11, but the Generals reeled off five straight for a 22-6 advantage. The Royals responded by winning three of the next four off a pair of kills from Turchetta and one from Rogers, but an attack error by the Royals would wrap up the win for Washington and Lee.
