FREDERICKSBURG, Va. (EMU Athletics) – A new era for EMU Men’s Soccer started on Wednesday as they traveled to Mary Washington for Trevor Swartz’s first game as head coach. Unfortunately, the Royals will look to go back to the drawing following a 6-0 defeat at the hands of the Eagles.

Highlights
• 7′ | The homestanding Eagles wasted no time taking control of the match Jack Sturman deposited the ball in the net for an early 1-0 lead for UMW.
• 27′ & 31′ | Braeden Kelly and Andrew Brittain added a goal apiece to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead.
• Mary Washington sustained the momentum in the second half, tacking on three more goals with one by Michael Lenhard in the 56th minute and two tallies by Ronan Quigley in the final five minutes to bring the game to its final score.
• Youth led the way for EMU as all five of the Royals’ shot came from first-year players.
