BRIDGEWATER, Va. (BC Athletics) — Laura Narby scored twice and Erinn Lockard made five saves as the Bridgewater College women’s soccer team defeated Shenandoah 4-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Bridgewater Soccer Complex. The Eagles scored on all four of their shots on goal, using three second-half goals to pull away and remain unbeaten in conference play.

Score: Bridgewater 4, Shenandoah 0
Records: Bridgewater 11-2-2 (6-0-2); Shenandoah 11-5-0 (5-4-0)

How It Happened
• Bridgewater nearly struck in the third minute when Brianna Curro hit the crossbar. Elle Turner sent another attempt wide in the fifth before Shenandoah began generating pressure. Lockard stopped Ella Cieri in the 12th minute as the Eagles weathered a stretch of eight Hornets shots before BC’s next attempt.
• The Eagles found their breakthrough in the 28th minute. Following a Laura Narby attempt and consecutive corner kicks, Curro connected with Grace Minton, who finished to give Bridgewater a 1-0 lead. Shenandoah answered with three corners over the next five minutes, but Lockard denied McKenna Newcome in the 35th to preserve the advantage.
• Narby added two attempts late in the half, and Katherine King sent a shot over the goal in the 44th minute. Despite trailing 10-7 in shots, Bridgewater entered the break ahead 1-0.
• Lockard made another important stop early in the second half, denying Isabella Pop in the 48th minute following a Shenandoah corner. Exactly one minute later, Narby finished off Curro’s second assist to double the Eagles’ lead. Narby nearly scored again just 51 seconds afterward, striking the left post.
• Shenandoah continued earning corners, but Bridgewater held firm before extending its lead in the 70th minute. Narby converted a penalty kick for her second goal of the afternoon, making it 3-0. Lockard protected the shutout with saves against Lauren Duffy and Audrey Atwell just 10 seconds apart in the 74th minute.
• Lily Hewatt capped the scoring with an unassisted goal in the 80th minute. The Eagles defended another late Shenandoah corner and closed out the victory, bouncing back from Saturday’s loss with a shutout.

Match Notes
• Narby led Bridgewater with two goals and six shots, while Curro recorded two assists. Minton and Hewatt each scored once, and Lockard stopped all five shots she faced over 90 minutes.
• Newcome paced Shenandoah with four shots, followed by Cieri with three. Molly Donaldson played the full match in goal for the Hornets.
• Bridgewater scored four times on 11 shots, converting every attempt on target. Shenandoah held a 20-11 advantage in shots and a 10-3 edge in corners, but the Eagles kept the Hornets scoreless to improve to 6-0-2 in conference play.
