FOREST, Va. (BC Athletics) – Bridgewater College swept the ODAC Football Player of the Week awards on Sunday after defeating Roanoke 51-48 on Saturday.
Parker Burke earned the league’s offensive award, Oscar Whitely earned the defensive award, and Shane Glenn was named the special teams player of the week.
Burke broke the program’s single-game passing record with his 497 yards in the win. He tossed four touchdowns on the afternoon and led the Eagles down the field in the game-winning drive as time expired.
Whitely continued his impressive senior season on Saturday. The Powhatan, Va. native totaled 12 total tackles, while 10 of them were done by himself. His 10 solo tackles extends his ODAC lead in that department and marks his seventh-straight game with double-digit tackles.
Glenn answered the call in the clutch on Saturday. Glen nailed a trio of field goals including the game-winner from 36 yards out as time expired. The sophomore was also 6-of-6 on PATs to help Bridgewater to their first win over Roanoke in school history.
