Holiday Schedule for Harrisonburg Services

Harrisonburg, Va. – City offices will be closed on Monday, July 3 and Tuesday, July 4 for the Independence Day holiday.

On Monday, July 3, refuse collection will run on a normal operating schedule.
Refuse that is regularly collected on Tuesday, July 4 will be collected on Wednesday, July 5. Bulk and yard debris collection for Wednesday, July 5 should be held until the next scheduled collection date.

Residents are encouraged to visit www.HarrisonburgVA.gov/notify-Harrisonburg and provide your name and email address to sign up for notices. This service is free and users may unsubscribe at anytime. For more information on trash collection, please visit www.HarrisonburgVA.gov/trash or call the Public Works Department at 540-434-5928.

Bus Service

The Harrisonburg Department of Public Transportation (HDPT) will not operate on Tuesday, July 4. Additional information on all bus routes and schedules can be found at www.HarrisonburgVA.gov/hdpt.
Parks and Recreation

Westover Park will close to the public at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, with exception of the pool, which will close at 5:00 p.m. The park will be the launch site for the Valley Fourth fireworks display and the park must be vacated. The park will remain closed until 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5.
