The Clover Hill Bucks rallied from a 6-1 deficit on Monday to defeat Bridgewater, 7-6, in game four of the Rockingham County Baseball League Championship Series at Ray Heatwole Field. The series is now tied 2-2.
The Reds jumped out to a 5-0 lead after a four-run third inning, and then both teams scored a run in the fourth. The Bucks started their comeback with a run in the sixth inning and then scored four eighth to tie the game. And then in the top of the ninth inning, Kevin Navedo was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score an unearned run to give Clover Hill the lead for good.
Navedo and T.J. Johnson drove in two runs each for the Bucks, while Luke Shifflett and Isaac Sumpter added one RBI a piece. Tanner Moyers earned the win on the mound as he threw three scoreless innings of relief and allowed just one hit.
Mason Hamilton led Bridgewater with two hits and two RBI, while Corbin Lucas, Chris Huffman, and T.J. Knight added two hits each.
Game five of the series will take place on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. from Buck Bowman Park at Clover Hill.
