Shooting at a Staunton Restaurant Results in One Man in Hospital, the Other in Jail.

STAUNTON, Va – An accidental shooting late Friday night at a Staunton restaurant landed one man in the hospital and another man in jail.

Staunton Police Sergeant Butch Shifflett reports the incident happened just before midnight at Baja Bean Company on West Beverly Street.

Two men were horse playing around and one of the men had a gun, which discharged, striking the other man in the groin.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment on non life-threatening injuries.

Shifflett added that 37-year-old Michael Eugene Carlin of Staunton was arrested on three charges, included felony shooting in an occupied business.

He is currently being held at Middle River Regional Jail.
