VERONA, Va – The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank received an early Christmas gift on Tuesday from T-Mobile, who donated 10-thousand dollars to the Verona-based food bank.

Cara Hopson is the Food Bank’s Managing Director of Development and she said in addition to the monetary donation, T-Mobile also had eight people donate three hours of their time this morning.

That donation was one of five 10-thousand dollar donations T-Mobile made to non-profit organizations across the commonwealth.

“T-Mobile is thrilled to contribute to these remarkable nonprofits as we recognize our Virginia employees’ achievements,” said Jon Freier, President, T-Mobile Consumer Group. “These teammates have demonstrated their commitment to making a meaningful impact through the Difference Maker Award, and these donations represent our dedication to building stronger and more vibrant communities throughout the state.”

The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and its network of 400+ partners help provide food for people living with hunger across 25 counties and 8 cities throughout the Blue Ridge region. The Food Bank operates four distribution centers in Charlottesville, Lynchburg, Winchester, and Verona.
